Adam Angel, LICSW, LCSW-C

Adam Angel is a clinical social worker with 15 years of experience working with youth, adults, and families. He is licensed in MD and DC and is also a MD Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. Adam grew up in a number of cities across the country, completed his undergraduate at the University of MD and his MSW at Howard University before working in the nonprofit world for the last 15 years.
Adam has worked extensively with young adults and their families on mental health, educational and social issues. His specialties include but are not limited to mood and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic, intergenerational, and developmental trauma. Adam works with both individuals and families and facilitates groups for fathers, grief groups, and paternal perinatal mental health.
Adam has extensive training in mind-body modalities that include mindfulness, the NeuroAffective Relational Model, Somatic Experiencing, and Brainspotting. He also utilize a client centered and relational approach. Clients who Adam works with guide the process and focus on the issues most relevant to them. Adam is also informed by an attachment-based framework that allows the client to recognize, celebrate, and move on from old patterns, leading to a more vibrant life.
Adam believes we all experience a certain number of challenges with some leading to undesired symptoms, feelings, or behaviors. Whether acute trauma, relationship issues or emotional challenges, he works with clients to process symptoms that feel stuck resulting in more joy, aliveness and connection to self and others.
Adam loves to play and watch basketball and ride his bike with his daughter right behind him. He lives in Silver Spring with his wife, two kids and their dog. He looks forward to meeting you.
